Coach Williams is a man that understands what the national anthem is truly about; it’s more than just a song for the country, it’s a song for all the men and women who have fought and died for that country. It’s a song about respecting where we come from and taking pride in what’s to come.
These guys, when they were you age, interrupted their life, they paused their education, they changed their career, and they gave their life for those chairs. So when the anthem is played, were going to stand like grown men and were going to honor men like this, that gave their life, so we can have a chair to sit in.
His players didn’t understand that, and he couldn’t stand it. His impassioned speech and his actions are what it all really boils down to, past all the political B.S. were all tired of.
