This audience likely did not know what they were in for when retired Naval Petty Officer Generald Wilson took the mic.
It was Game 3 of the 2013 World Series. The seventh-inning stretch came along and Wilson approached home plate in uniform, prepared to sing God Bless America. The crowd rose, many of which were soldiers who had recently returned from overseas. The chills began right away. Wilsons voice is deep and incredibly moving. It penetrates the entire stadium. While the crowd is clearly blown away, the fellow soldiers present are especially moved as we get to see their reaction when the camera pans in their direction. Really incredible, must-see performance of this very important song which honors our countrys veterans.
